MEMBERS OF THE UC BERKELEY CAMPUS COMMUNITY
Grant Funding Available for Interactive University Projects with the Oakland and San Francisco Unified School Districts
We would like to invite you to submit proposals for funding from the UC Berkeley Interactive University (IU) Project to develop and implement digital learning materials in partnership with the Oakland and San Francisco Unified School Districts. We are very pleased to have UC Berkeley, the Oakland Unified School District, and the San Francisco Unified School District join together in this unique opportunity to use the Internet to build a learning community of University and K-12 partners.
The aim of these IU projects will be to develop and implement digital learning materials that can improve student achievement, structure learning relationships between the University and K-12 schools, respond to key district curricular needs and standards, foster innovative teaching and learning strategies, and can be brought to scale and be used by large numbers of K-12 teachers and students.
We will award grants up to $35,000 a year for a maximum of three years for campus costs. We expect to fund approximately eight projects. A Request for Proposals (RFP) describing the projects and proposal process will be available on Monday, August 24, 1998, 5 P.M. at the Interactive University Project web site:
