What do you do in your Social
Studies and Language Arts program?
Student 1. My class has a lot of different things to do. Nearly
every week we do a book report, and we read from our social studies
book a lot.
Student 2. We have many books to read and we do many reports.
My class is fun. We do a lot of reading out of our social
studies books and we get to see a lot of slides.
What do you think about the textbooks?
Student 1. I don't really mind the text books. I do think they're
kind of old but I like them better than a lot of things. They
have a lot of information in Social Studies and some really
great stories in the Literature books.
Student 2. I don't mind the textbooks as long as they teach us
the things we need to learn. I find the textbooks interesting
because they have great excerpts of stories and they have every
thing in the Social Studies books.
What do you think about the class times and
being able to go to
different classes and not having the same
teacher all the time?
Student 1. I like changing classes. I don't get bored as much
and I think it makes school seem like it goes by faster,
because you're not in the same class all the time.
Student 2. The classes are the right amount of time. The
students don't get too bored and the teachers have enough time
to teach their lesson. I like going to different teachers
because you learn more than you did in elementary school.
In
elementary school, you have the same teacher, and the teacher might
stay on the same subject for a certain amount of time and might
not have enough time to do other subjects.
