**THE MUSIC
DEPARTMENT**
The music department is run by Ms.
Gomez. There is a band and an orchestra. The department is a full year
elective course. There is an advanced and an intermediate group for both
the band and orchestra. The band has lots of challenges each year. Some
of those challenges are finding the right balance of instruments, taking
good care of the instruments, and finding just the right songs for both
the band and orchestra. I'm one of the 1'st trumpeters in the band along
with Kevin Ma, Brina Mocsny, and Brie Jefferson. The 2'nd trumpeters, the
3'rd trumpeters, and us, all think that Ms. Gomez always has a lot on her
hands and we sometimes wonder how she finishes all that she has to do along
with controlling us middle schoolers. There is no doubt that Ms. Gomez
is a determined, hard-working teacher.
